Who Are Beartooth? Columbus, Ohio Metalcore Since 2012

· The Band

If you found Beartooth through a festival set, a friend's playlist or a song like Might Love Myself, welcome. Here's a quick guide to the band for new fans and old ones.

Where are Beartooth from?

Beartooth come from Columbus, Ohio. Caleb Shomo started the project there in 2012, writing and recording the songs on his own and playing every instrument himself. The name comes from Beartooth Court, the street where the band's original bassist grew up.

How did it become a band?

For about a year Shomo was the only member. In 2013 more players joined, the band signed to Red Bull Records, and they put out the Sick EP for free on their website. The first full album, Disgusting, followed in June 2014.

Which albums should I start with?

  • Disgusting (2014): the debut, released in June 2014.
  • Aggressive (2016): the second album, out in June 2016.
  • Disease (2018): the third album, with the title track as its lead single.
  • Below (2021): the fourth album, out in June 2021.
  • The Surface (2023): the fifth, with Riptide, Sunshine!, Doubt Me and Might Love Myself.
  • Pure Ecstasy (2026): the sixth album and their first on Fearless Records, led by the single Free.

Who is in Beartooth now?

Caleb Shomo sings and still records every instrument in the studio. On stage he is joined by Oshie Bichar on bass, Zach Huston and Will Deely on guitar and Connor Denis on drums.

Why do fans love them?

Beartooth mix metalcore, hardcore and hard rock: heavy riffs, big choruses and lyrics that say exactly what they mean. Might Love Myself and I Was Alive both went to No. 1 on the US Mainstream Rock Airplay chart in 2023, and their fans scream every word back.
